Lost in the hidden breaches — a dove coos

but will never be heard

Can it hear itself? If it cannot see

a fellow bird

coo in response?

Then

Strangling through the dense forest, a bipedular mammal walks finally into a clearing

He realizes for the second time in his life

he is alone

Not by distance

But sound

For a voice can only carry so far

Into the crevices of a mind
