Shadows burn in memory town

The darkness makes its way to fire
Something I can’t bare
to live in
Something I’m used to
by now
My veins have become it
And my tongues lash with careless poison throughout forgetful parts of day—but still poison
Poison I can’t control
Poison that makes sense
While skin crumbles
I’m punished by the savior who stole my sustenance and tried me for stealing food
He expects more from the boy who kissed his mom goodnight without her knowing it
He was stronger than, with a lighter brain
Since,
he thinks too much
And weighs his thoughts at the door
He’s taller too
But his eyes sag down his shoulders and collapse into his chest
It’s not so much a frown
Just that
The shadows now burn
In memory town
